Classroom-level support
What an Element Parent does
Communication with the parents of your element. It is a small, practical role — you are the link between one classroom and the families in it, and you are never asked to do it alone.
Term: Until the start of next school year.
Main responsibilities
- Carry communication between the school — via your Grade Parent — and the parents of your element
- Assist the teacher with classroom needs: copies, laminating, prep work where allowed
- Help organise class parties and celebrations, led by the Grade Parent (parents cannot be present unless the event falls outside classroom hours)
- Support teacher appreciation for that class
- Volunteer at a minimum of one Booster event during the year — Game Night, STEAM Saturday or the Spring Carnival
Parent communication
- Share teacher-approved messages with class parents
- Remind families about class-specific events
- Help answer basic parent questions
Event coordination
- Organise supplies or volunteers for class parties
- Field trips — Element Parents are added to the lottery automatically
- Special classroom activities
